Pay & Benefits

  • Full-time pay: $15-$18 per hour + quarterly bonus opportunities

  • 35+ hours per week

  • Schedule varies by season and school’s peak times (weekday afternoons/evenings and weekends)

  • Includes swim instruction, deck supervision, instructor coaching, and administrative responsibilities


About the Role

Are you ready to lead a passionate swim team and make a direct impact on children and families? As an Aquatic Manager, you’ll oversee our Water Safety Instructor team, ensuring every lesson meets our high standards for safety, quality, and family experience. You’ll work closely with the General Manager to mentor instructors, develop future leaders, and maintain a hands-on presence in the pool, while keeping operations running smoothly and ensuring consistent curriculum quality.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

  • Hire, train, assess, and coach aquatic staff

  • Oversee Lead Instructor Trainers (LITs) and support performance

  • Mentor instructors and identify future leaders within the aquatics team

  • Conduct monthly in-service trainings and ongoing instructor assessments

  • Communicate clearly with the General Manager and MIT

Swim Instruction & Deck Supervision

  • Teach 1–3 permanent swim lesson shifts per week

  • Serve as Deck Supervisor for at least one permanent shift per week

  • Conduct in-water training, co-teaching, and WSI assessments

  • Ensure all AT-MWSI instructors meet certification requirements

Pool Operations & Safety

  • Coordinate and manage pool operations according to state/county health standards

  • Maintain safety, cleanliness, and quality of Aqua-Tots curriculum

  • Ensure all safety concerns are addressed immediately

  • Lead two safety in-services per year and additional monthly trainings

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Participate in ATD All-AM calls

  • Maintain and verify instructor schedules and training documentation

  • Track and review student progress reports and Propel/ATU goals

  • Complete 3–5 hours/week of administrative tasks, including time-clock verification

Customer & Family Experience

  • Build strong relationships with families, knowing their names and their children’s names

  • Address aquatic customer concerns and respond within 24 hours

  • Escalate unresolved concerns to the GM/MIT and provide a win/win solution


Qualifications

  • Current AT-MWSI certification

  • Background in aquatics, coaching, or swim instruction

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills

  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities

  • Passion for water safety, aquatics, and team development

  • Ability to lead in a fast-paced aquatic environment

  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)
