Job Objective:

In collaboration with the General Manager and Area Integrator, the Aquatics Coordinator will provide training, mentorship, and ongoing assessments of Water Safety Instructors (WSI) in an effort to ensure Aqua-Tots brand standards and lesson quality is being met.

Key Responsibilities:

· Train, perform assessments, and mentor potential, new, and tenured Water Safety Instructors through execution of In-Water Skills Education, WSI assessments, regular feedback, and monthly in-services.

· Attend standing weekly meetings with area management team, AJT aquatic management team, HQ sponsored training opportunities.

· Organize and execute SNAP lesson assessment process for inquiring and current students.

· Report weekly metrics and use the information to improve/correct any potential issues.

· Ensure families feel welcome and not overwhelmed. Ease worries for parents, first-day students who may be nervous, and children who are mastering a challenging skill.

· Build trust and a sense of community/family and ensure families and teammates understand the importance of lessons, our process, and connect all to our belief that swimming creates opportunities.

· In partnership with the GM, create a capable team of Water Safety Instructors (WSI) that embody our core behaviors and provide an exceptional experience to students and parents.

· Collaborate with a capable team of Front Desk Team (FDT) that embody our core behaviors and provide an exceptional experience to students and parents.

· Collaborate with the entire team to ensure the school is show-ready before, during, and after all operating hours.

· Have a plan in event of different emergencies, ensure that plans are followed through training and that all emergencies and incidents are documented appropriately.

· Organize and execute community education opportunities including but not limited to preschool water safety events and open house events at local schools.

· Organize and execute special events within the school including but not limited to Water Safety Month activities, swim meets, and swim clinics.

· Assist with WSI interviews as needed.

· Collaborate with GM to make decisions regarding WSI performance and opportunities for advancement.

Preferred Experience:

· Leadership & Management of teams of 10-50 individuals

· Aquatic Management – swimming, lifeguarding, pool management

· Instruction of Activities for Children & Adults

· Training of Staff

· Customer Service

· Basic knowledge of the four Olympic swim strokes

· Certified Pool Operator

· CPR Instructor

  • Salary: $35,000- $40,000
  • Bonus pay in addition
